Educational Qualification :
- A Bachelor’s degree in any engineering or occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related field is often required.
- Any Diploma courses in Health & Environment or Fire & Industrial Safety management or related fields are required.
Certifications: having any of the below listed certification shall be an advantage:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP): Offered by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), it is highly regarded.
- Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) or equivalent certifications depending on the industry.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification: Many roles require basic first aid and emergency response certifications.
- NEBOSH IGC, International General Certificate in Health & Safety
- OSHA- Construction Safety Certification course
- IOSH- Managing Safety Certification course
Qualification & Experience:
- Driving Safety Culture: Must have ability to drive safety culture across the organization
- Policy Implementation: Proven ability to develop and enforce safety policies tailored to solar construction and operations.
- Site Inspections and Audits: Hands-on experience conducting safety inspections and audits on solar project sites.
- Incident Investigation: Experience in investigating safety risks, hazards, incidents and implementing corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Training Programs: Expertise in designing and delivering safety training programs, including new hire orientation and emergency preparedness

Key Deliverables:
- Safety Plans and Policies: Develop and implement site-specific safety plans tailored to solar projects, including emergency response protocols.
- Risk Assessments: Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments for activities like working at heights, electrical installations, and heavy equipment operations.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure adherence to OSHA standards, local regulations, and company safety policies through regular audits and inspections.
- Incident Management: Investigate accidents, near-misses, and safety violations, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Training Programs: Deliver safety training sessions, including new hire orientation, toolbox talks, and specialized training for solar-specific hazards.
- Safety Equipment Oversight: Ensure the availability and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety tools.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of safety inspections, incidents, and compliance efforts, and prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies.
- Emergency Preparedness: Establish and test emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and first-aid readiness.
- Contractor & Vendor Safety Compliance:Monitor safety compliance of contractors and third-party vendors working on-site.
- Audit & Inspection Management: Conduct regular workplace safety inspections, audits, and compliance checks to identify gaps and improvements.
- Safety Culture Development: Foster a proactive safety culture through leadership, employee engagement, and best practices
